Dragon Empires is looking to hire in game Game Masters (http://www.codemasters.com/dragonempires/uk/index.php?id=322&PHPSESSID=715319a3460b21426cd30a53797ea3c7). Interesting, there has been some discussion at Mythica Realms on whether volunteer in game helpers (http://www.mythicarealms.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=1463&) could be a part of Mythica. The successful candidate will not only provide high level customer support to the Dragon Empires players and community but will take responsibility for the creation, running and feedback of in-game events. The successful candidate will also ensure the appropriate use of in-game chat channels taking action as and when required. They will also monitor and respond to all in-game and out-of-game queries ensuring all game policies and procedures are enforced and compiled with.

Ideally you will already be working within Customer Services, with at least 12 months experience of playing MMORPG’s. Candidates should be proficient in Outlook and have an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of ‘dOOd’ speak. Additional experience in IT support is desirable but not essential for this role.
Very interesting stuff. They're in the UK if anyone is interested in submitting their resume.

What are your feelings on either in game volunteer guides or in game paid guides?

Found this too on the Blizzard site, their looking for a lead game master (http://www.blizzard.com/jobopp/wow-lead-game-master.shtml). Lead Game Masters will help manage the in-game customer service team, as well as help manage our online community. The ideal candidate would have previous Lead or Senior GM experience, with an extensive amount of customer support management experience, as well as possess a strong knowledge of the unique issues inherent to MMORPGs.

I think game masters are great. Heck! I think volunteer guides are great. I used to really like the system old UO had up and I thought the lawsuit filed by the UO volunteers was fairly tragic, it kinda pissed me off. Anyways

MythicaHQ forums have always been a solid backer of good content. And game masters can provide just that.. with some very interesting and very cool scenarios. I think having a good GM team should be a goal of every great MMO in the future.
