EQ questions

Due to a strange twist of fate, I'm now the owner of a new copy of EQ Evolutions.

As my guild city has been destroyed in Shadowbane, I've been thinking about playing it for a few months to pass the time.

I've skipped through some sites and I'll probably play a high elf Magician.

So, to the questions. Can anyone recommend a US server and a friendly guild?

All depends on what you want to do. If you want RP, there's the Firiona Vie server, which is technically RP-preferred, though I get the feeling it's about as RP as DAoC's so-called "RP servers."

If you want PvP...well...there's Rallos Zek, though I wouldn't recommend it. Ganker's paradise. Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek are PvP-Teams servers...or so they're called. Truth of it is, at least on TZ, there's no such thing as real teams anymore. Back when I played all the time on TZ, there were real teams and good fights and all that. It's supposed to be 4 teams - humans, shorts, elves and darks. When I played, it was two actual teams - the elves, shorts and humans had essentially combined into one team - the lighty trash. The dark team stood alone. Now, though...it's all crossteam and there's no real teams anymore, except in game mechanics terms. There's also Sullon Zek, which is PvP Teams based on the goid you follow, but I never played there.

For the regular servers, I always had good times on Solusek Ro, with my old guild, The Legion of Dawn. Great bunch of folks, heavy into roleplay. They kinda came back recently, but I've not been in-game much lately, so I don't quite know if they stayed or jumped to Firiona Vie. On TZ, Ebon Army is still a solid dark team guild (look for Tiszaa - she's a real sweetie), and if you see any members of C'rintrin D'oloth around, tell 'em Naeramarth sent ya. That guild was the best, though they're mainly inactive now. Then again, you're going to be another lighty...feh. ;) Anyways, if you find yourself on TZ, look for Vaedayen, and if you're on SolRo, look for Tannayr. I'm not on all that much anymore, and those characters are kinda lowbies, but I'll help where I can.

if you were in the UK/Europe i'd recommend Antonius Bayle (server based in London) and my old guild Wyrd Angles (a mad bunch of fun loving people).

my regular server was Karana, with the guild 'Golden Dawn' - a small, friendly guild of east and west coast americans but all highish levels. Karana is one of the original servers so is highly populated with lots of competition for spawns and camps.

best thing to do is just get in game and see where it takes you, when i started i didn't have a clue what i was doing but found plenty of people willing to help me out. i'm sure its the same on all servers :)

I used to play on povar and it was ok. Ive been out of the game for a year, possibly a little longer, though.

My advice is take your copy of EQ. Burn it. Piss on it. Then go to Hale'iwa and have some ice cream.
