I am not a die hard gamer like some ppl, but I have played several rpgs, my latest stint being EQ. Now, I worked my first char to lvl 58 ... joined a guild.. and all that jazz... then found that it was suddenly really really hard to find a group, even within my guild. Now mind you my guild had mostly come from a high lvl guild off another server so they have all been friends for years.. and have played together as long, so it was no wonder that they preferred the " experienced " players over myself, but still.. the point of online gaming I thought was to group with people to build up your levels and complete epic quests ( which they didn't help me do mine )

I am wondering if anyone else has had problems in RPG's when it comes to higher level grouping, raids, and guildmates. I am so excited for Mythica to come out, but I'm wondering if the same problems will arise... I'm pretty sure it was mostly because ppl were veterens and didn't like having a noob tag along, but it can really hurt character advancement in higher levels if soloing isn't a viable option and you can't get a group. It is even harder when u have seasoned people making life hell for everyone, i.e. KS'n, harassment, camping MOB's for days on end, and all around making it hard to enjoy the game.

Any ideas on how to avoid that kind of situation? And anyone know if Mythica will have solo quests and mobs for higher lvl chars? And off topic... what kinda stuff is there for raids?

Eq was fun till I couldn't find a grp. Being pretty new to online gaming I just want to try to avoid the same problems.....

K.. sorry about the long post... heh..I'm done moaning and groaning :uhoh:

hi there

u have seasoned people making life hell for everyone, i.e. KS'n, harassment, camping MOB's for days on end,

well most of the good mobs and quest will be in your own private realm so there wont be the camping that u mention

anyone know if Mythica will have solo quests and mobs for higher lvl chars?

yes in the game you will be able to solo the entire time if you so wish

Any ideas on how to avoid that kind of situation?

i think it all comes down to the people you hang out with, as you said yourself , the guild you were in was full of veterans who were friends before, i think u just need to find a nice bunch of people who think and play the way you do

sure there will be a ton of guilds that dont focus on powerleveliong and being the most uber

Okies! Heh.. well private realms will definately takes care of most issues... thats kewl. :) Ok now, so you can solo the whole game. Will there be a penalty in some " zones" for not grouping? Will there be bonuses for being in a group? How easy would it be to build up an avatar by one's lonsome????

I enjoy grouping, prefer to play that way cause you meet some pretty kewl people along the way... My guild was a raid guild.. they really didn't PL eachother. That I enjoyed because it was challenging as well as rewarding to the whole guild. What made it impossible was outside of that, finding a group ( for my class... too many pet classes) was very very hard. Will classes in Mythica have an "advantage" over another? Or will they be pretty balanced out, each with pros and cons? Bah.. I talk too much :P

K, done -

If my memory is good, it was stated in some interviews that some classes will be better than others to solo and that inside 1 class, depending of your path, you will be more or less efficient against "several mobs" or "1 stronger mob".
I do hope that they will manage to balance the solo and the group since I love both (even if I prefer to group) and I plan to have my main a full support char (if such a concept exists in Mythica of course) and my main alt a solo char.

forgot to say, welcome to the forums Arreana

as with pretty much every mmorpg, not all classes will be perfectly equal when it comes to solo, but as the devs told us, you can solo ur way through the whole game quite happily, dont think u will be penalised for anything

I've read that the devs have said that you'll be able to solo. Some classes are better than others. Some will be better with certain types of monsters. They've also stated that you'll be able to play solo, although advancement through the game will be slower than if you group.
