Gamespy has post a hands on preview (http://www.gamespy.com/previews/december03/lineage2pc/) with the latest build of Lineage 2Speaking of flying around solo on a dragon, Lineage 2 is an MMORPG that actually allows for soloing if you so choose. In other words, while there's an advantage to grouping up with people, it's not a necessity. In fact, there's a rather robust economic and political model built in to the game. While it's fine to run around solo and fend off whatever you consider evil, people can become landowners, castle lords, or even kings and queens. As someone in power, you can choose to tax people in your area in return for added protection and aid when needed. While this sounds almost like extortion, Mafia-style, it's completely optional. No one has to participate in this to advance in the game, but it certainly sounds like a way to build, oh I don't know, a lineage.
They plan on allowing solo play. I thought Lineage 1 was more about the guilds/blood pledges/lineages and combat between them. Not sure how that fits with the solo.
Taxing sounds like a version of the follower system that Mythica is using, but just based on money, not the other tasks and rewards.

Lineage2 looks amazing, it was on my top 5 list of games to watchout for. The screenshots and feedback I have read seem to be all positive and great. I personally love the manga type feel with the game, and I really hope it does well.

There is a lot of questions I would like to see answered about this game, but it is probably one of the three MMORPGs I am awating.
I like the look and feel that the graphics have, but I am worried that the character selectiong process will be too limited like FFXI, the skill based Warrior or Wizard class system worries me a little too, but I guess without more info I just won't know what to think about this game.

I got a question, is this coming to the States? For that matter did the first one come here as well or not?

I am not sure if the first one came here, but this one is coming out in Korea first and then coming here, at least that what I remember their FAQ saying.

Lineage 2 tears me, big time. On one hand it's Korean. Every single Korean MMORPG I've played has sucked. Almost/identical characters, boring gameplay (even by MMORPG standards) and precious little to do except hunt monsters. Not at all suited to my rarified RPG tastes.
On the other hand Richard Garriot is involved.

American RPGs have always been substantially better than their Asian counterparts.

There seems to be a lot of back story put into this one. I never played Lineage 1 so I don't know if that was the case. As I said above my biggest fears are limited choices in character creation and in class customization.
