why do they only nedd testers that speak korean or mandarin?

Because it's a market that many U.S. development companies (en masse) are finally turning to for an additional consumer-base. If you want to work in game testing for a living, learning Mandarin, Korean, Japanese and other asia-pacific languages would be of great benefit to your career.
