Is the Agency's persistent online shooter business model a realistic one for SOE? For anyone?

Planetside failed.

Hellgate: London seems to be similar in the FPS based mechanics - and will probably be out sooner.

Huxley (Strange name, I know) also seems similar in the concepts of its mechanics.

Isn't Tabula Rasa also heading down the same path?

I wonder if one of these titles will get the business model to work?

Still ... cartoon spies are very, very cool.

BTW .... Killing's Good Business - with the obvious tag - is mine! ;)

I like the tag line. :) It will be interesting to see what they end up using as a business model. Will in game ads be used, subscription fees, ad banners, pay to get rid of them, pay for the good loot, pay for content, etc. SOE seems to be experimenting with several different methods. One thing that's interesting, is by going to a current timeline it allows product placement. Ie. that health potion is now Gatorade, etc.

Over the top action, tongue in cheek stuff like the WTF emote (if it stays in the game), car/boat/??? chases are what make me excited. They'll have a hard time competing if it's just a fancy lobby for Halo 3, BF 3, etc.
