And after doing some reading, a question that hasn't been asked:

How will players affect the online world? For example, FFXI has Conquest and Campaign, in which players aligned with different nations battle for control of different regions, consequently controlling any particular region brings a benefit to the citizens of that particular nation. Will The Agency have an equivalent to this ongoing "Region Control"?

In my interview I asked about World Domination, and they talked about the end game. Hopefully we'll get to that soon so others can hear the answers. :)

Am I jumping to conclusions or does that sound like only high lvl characters will be able to do it? If so I don't know I like that. Sorry to keep comparing to FFXI but it's the only MMO I play and the best out. In it domination of an area is determined by the amount of xp characters obtain in that area. So let's say UNITE agents are "XPing" in a currently PARAGON controlled area. If by the next tally UNITE agents have aquired more XP in that area than PARAGON mercenaries, it will become a UNITE controlled region.

In any case, I cant wait untill the next part of your interview!

I think not. Or at least I HOPE not. The Agency doesn't seem like a game where xp is everything. There will probably be competition (combat and hopefully other kind of too) about the areas. IF by world domination they actually mean it :)

Well I think it would be cool to have control over a NON-PVP area if your agency has completed missions there more than the other. And then on PVP designated areas we could just have FPS style battles to gain points towards the control of THAT area. That way ALL types of players, those who will go more the RPG route as well as the FPS inclined, will both have a say in world/area domination.

What kind of benefits do you get for having possession of an area. It has some potential as an idea, let's explore it some more.

indeed. Maby you can gain taxes from all the trading that happens in that area? :D That would be benefitical enough. and realistic enough.

Well in FFXI: xp while having signet equates to "Conquest Points" that are then used to buy special items, which are exclusive to each nation and their citizens and in most cases can not be sold. Signet is simply a buff cast by an NPC that allows your xp gained in that area to count towards the Conquest of that region. Once that region is under your nations control different NPC merchants apear in your nation allowing you to buy items otherwise unavailable to you. In each region there is also an "Outpost" that is under the control of which ever nation currently controls the area this is displayed by your nations banner infront of that oupost. There is also an NPC in each city that teleports you to any area controlled by your nation IF you have previously done a "supply run" in which you take a package to the outpost guards. A Catch is you can only do supply runs to areas CURRENTLY unde your nation's control and the conquest tally is every sunday at midnight. Depending on the server's trends some regions may only be under your nations control for a week and then maybe not again for months.

Translate this as you may but a system like this may put a bit more depth into collecting "Operatives" in different areas or in the case of The Agency "Cities".

Cool stuff. I think having operatives and missions only available, better pricing, perhaps mission NPC's that are only available if you control the area. Lots of cool things that they can do with this. But I bet you want to know what they are planning. ;) I'm a tease, you'll have to wait a couple weeks at least before we get to that part of the interview where we discuss this.

Blast you agent G! :@ As long as The Agency does not turn out to be a superficial game, I like depth to my game as well as feeling that my efforts and work benefit more than just MY character progression.
Isn't the next part due THIS coming week? Do not try to double cross us agent G! We are watching you

In WoW, when a faction has Wintergrasp, players can buy items available only when their faction has it under their control. Also, they can do a raid as well. So yeah...most likely, we might see something similar in the Agency. Best thing to do, in my opinion, is see what things are successful in other MMOs n tweak it. Heh Happens with all MMOs.
