So do you any of you play Dark Age of Camelot? Because im thinking about only playing that until Mythica cames out. Im just wondering so we can all get together and play. Im going to have to buy another game for it though, I lost the old one:( .

I've played in the past but do not currently have it. :( I've got so much going on that I doubt I'd have time for it anyway. At least not enough to justify purchasing a copy.

I played for a year and a half, I dont play anymore. Today my roomate just hit 2million realm points and retired pretty much. We were all on Galahad-Hibernia. Its a good game to keep you busy until mythica comes out.

That new expansion pack looks interesting. Underwater adventure and boats. Stealing a little of Mythica's thunder on that. We'll see how well the pull it off.

I quit almost a year ago...I hit 50 in November of 2001 and quit in March of 2002. But who knows...what was your char names?

I never did much RvR. But one of my friends was Lokis Minion, the first Spiritmaster to hit level 50 on Galahad. I think he had some reknown in RvR.

:'( No I don't remember that name. I left the game as a lvl 42 Merc named Mirybeth on Galahad Albion.

RvR was a blast when there was less then 50 people involved in the raid. I had a PoS computer back then so anything over 50 lagged me to death. But, none-the-less, I had a lot of fun in that game. :)

Then a 50 Arms on Gaheris.

I've been trying to find something to keep me busy until Mythica comes out, but can't quite manage getting back into DAoC, but I still think its much better than EQ. The player population is quite a bit top heavy so its hard for new players to find groups, but solo'ing is an option.

DAOC is a very easy game to lvl in, you can do almost 15 lvls in a few hours (without PL). If you beg for money in populated zones you can get great armor for a lvl 15 at lvl 5. I wish armor had lvl limits, like you can't wear this armor until a certain lvl, this would stop twinking, and make the competition somewhat equal. With PL I know people that have done 20-25 lvls in one day, and gotten to lvl 50 within a week. The thing about DAOC is the game doesnt start until lvl 50 when you can RVR without instant one shot death.

I think the key is knowing where, how and with whom to lvl. First set up a good group. I know in hibernia, if you get a bard, a tank, and a caster with pbae you can get lvls really fast. Midgard I would say get a skald, a savage, and a runemaster. Albion, get a cleric, a ice wizzy, and any tank class (Friar for extra heals maybe). The key is to pull up to 3 enemies (or as many as your healer can heal you with and not grab agro), then have tank taunt all the enemies at once for a few seconds, then have pbae caster come in and kill them. Minimal down time, and quick xp. As you can see each group has one healer type, one tank, and one pbae caster. This maximizes damage and minimizes risk. Another point is get a place with adds and you will get group bonus and another bonus for multiple enemies. Try to keep the enemies at a yellow/orange lvl. It will go fast.

At what level can you do all that? Im currently playing a Bone Dancer for Midgard and was thinking of starting a savage but I got discourged because its so hard to find groups and so hard to level.

PBAE is given at lvl 5 with the right class and spec line. I know in hibernia is any mage spec'd mana (hence called mana bombing), Albion is a wizzard spec'd in ice, and midgard its a spirit master (correction from earlier its not a runemaster) spec'd in spirit supression line. Essentially once you get to lvl 5 you can be on your way to fun. The problem is getting a pbae to help you, since they can solo reds, they have no real need for groups, unless maybe for crowd control or heals.

Ahh I see. Yea its hard to get a group on my server. Morgan Le fay. Me and my friend bought the game to try it out but had alot of problems and I think he is going to quit it.

Hmmm MLF is the most populated server, you should be able to find groups. I think the best way to do it is either get in a guild and get help from others alts, or just ask a lvl 50 where good spots to hunt are at certain lvls. Maybe if they are nice they will take you out there, or help you, or log thier alt on. I know a person who has 4 lvl 50s in midgard and MLF. I can talk to him and see if he is playing...PM me your char names and I will ask him to talk to you.

Maybe I'll take up my Enchanter again. I'll spec her to get the Damage Add and Damage Shield for PL'ing newbies. I play on Gaheris since all I really care about is being able to see ALL of the new content in Atlantis.

And, if I ever want to RVR, I can just roll up a new character on a server, level them to 19 and hit the BG, which is better than RvR.

I have played the game for almost 2 years. I have a 50 Thane, Dankus, on the RP server Percival. I still play quite a bit and still enjoy the game.

How long did the initial patch take to download? must take like 3 hours for that even on broadband...

I unfortunately dont play anymore...or else I would, all my friends are on Galahad though if that means anything to you...I would suggests morgan le fey because it is the most populated server and you will have a good chance to get groups and rvr.

ahh.... wish this had been posted a few weeks ago. We cancelled our DAoC accounts about a month ago, give or take. Been on most servers with a couple 50s and a lot of 40ish and 30ish level chars. Last home was on Gaheris just because my husband and I got tired of arguing over who to play. Can't play a Healer and a Champion at the same time if you want to group together. ;)

I miss the friendships :( however I don't miss the game at all. Currently testing Horizons as well. I'm Dyrel or Darya on Spirit at the moment if you want to hook up in game. :)

I still got an open DAoC account but im so annoyed with MMORPGs right now.. It'd be fine if I could play them like a single player game.. but I actually need people which ruins it for me because people always find a way to spoil my fun. Like there was this guy looking for 1 more person for a quest for like 30 minutes but wouldnt recruit me because I wasnt the right class. When you make groups in games you should always take the first people that ask as long as they meet the requirements to do what ever it is your doing. No sickly annoying discrimation based on class or race or anything like that. :P

Man.. Someone from my own guild just shafted me for a quest. Was sitting there saying he was looking for people then left as soon as I walked up and asked to join.. Im very seriously thinking of just quiting these games for a while now.. Nothing but frustration.

if u wanna try someth online u can play as singleplayer, try some mud. sure, they dont have graphics but still much more fun than any mmorpg i played :)

Oh I love muds sometimes.. I just like MMORPGS sometimes too. I played on one mud for like 5 years before. Its pretty cool, kept my interest for far far longer then any other game.

I didnt really like DoAC for the same reasons. Mostly couldnt find any groups and soloing wasnt very fun really.. Want to hop on together? Im pretty sure Rofeo is still playing also if you want pick him up also. I never got a good time to meet him though.

I have a 14ish enchanter on my last account on Gaheris. She has a damage add and shield that would help power you guys through the first 10 levels or so. I tried again last month to play but there are no groups until you hit the 40's. I dual-boxed a pair to 50 once in a couple months at a pretty relaxed pace without ever grouping, it was an odd combo: Cleric/Cabalist.

Edit:Curiously, any classes you would suggest? I dont currently have a character on that server.. I been playing Midguard. :)
