That is the last screen shot...if you press previous a bunch of times you can see some really cool armor, weapons, spell effects and such. It looks really cool. I almost got in korean beta test, but by the time I got the invite and the cds it was over. I have heard you can move using the arrow keys, and point and click. I just think it really looks good, the movies on thier main page are so nice...www.lineage2.com

That game does look cool, Esion. You know if there is any kind of a trailer for it?

It looks cool but I found too many bad reviews...I'm not buying it.

Besides...how do you run and jump in high heels?!

Its quite anime-ish...but I still think it has some potential. I havent read any real reviews on it.

edit: The details on the weapons, shields, armor, and spells are amazing. Even the terrain makes me want to play it. I really think it could have good potential. The enemies in the screenshots look good, and the only thing i could think that hurts them is content. Other than that, I know lineage 1 has a huge following, some half million, and I am sure lineage 2 will make it.

I'm really interested in Guild Wars as well. I like the concept of no monthly fees. :) This company is founded by several of the blizzard folks that wrote battle.net and is committed to providing games with no monthly fee.

Also, I think the idea of picking which skill sets you'll take into a module is really cool. Strategic gameplay based upon combo's. A new interview on it is posted here (http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/guildwars1.php). The main website is here (http://www.guildwars.com).

Here is a quote that is very close to the Mythica folks:ArenaNet: We’ve put a lot of thought into character creation, because we want to avoid those ruined characters. We’ve all had the sort of game experience where you place attribute points or choose a skill for your character, only to learn later – sometimes after investing hundreds of hours into the character – that you made a bad decision and the character is permanently flawed, or “gimped.” With Guild Wars, we never ask you to make permanent decisions about your character until you have all the information you need to make good choices. The only thing we ask you to decide when you start out is appearance, such as hair colour, gender, height, etc. Any choices you make that affect gameplay are made after you have enough knowledge to make good decisions.

LOL...see other games think character creation is really important, but I am still not a fan of respeccing...

Guild Wars will be another game to keep an eye on.

I'm convinced that Microsoft needs to stop insisting that they won't make a keyboard and mouse for the XBox and just do it. MMORPGs are tough to do with a console controller (and tough to enforce any sort of code of behavior with voice chat. text logging is MUCN easier and less costly) and having a cross-platform game would make Mythica and other MMO's a huge success, IMO.

Besides... I'd much rather play a game on my 27" component-video television with dolby surround sound (and not crash, because the main cause of crashes is the varied evironment games have to accomodate for in the PC market) than my 19" monitor with 2.1 stereo

Er... Sorry... sorta went off-topic.

The game looks cool, but looks aren't everything. I'll need to delve deeper into what's written on the game than what's been thrown up in galleries.

Remember, folks... devs can promise the moon then drop you off in Idaho (no offense to any resident Idahoans). In-game pictures are just demos of the game engine and art assets. Pretty games see a huge rise and then a huge drop in average concurrency.

Yeah, here's the reason I like my console experience too.

Well, I could have said "Yakima" but few outside of WA would understand. If I'd said "Toppenish" even fewer people.

And yes, I've got a grudge against eastern Washington. I lived there for 5 years.

NCsoft release of Lineage II, sequel to its popular Lineage title, snares a record-setting number of subscribers in game's first days.

Korean sources tell GameSpot that in the game's first five days in release, publisher NCsoft has tallied more than 130,000 paid users. The game was released on October 1, 2003.

This level of success is unheard of in the highly competitive online marketplace in Korea. One industry analyst told GameSpot recently that even the most popular online products in that market take an average of six months to secure subscriber numbers that top 100,000.

Well this is from mmorpg.com (www.mmorpg.com) I guess Lineage 2 is doing very well...Wish I could get my hands on a copy of that...or at least US beta...

Yeah, the first one has more subscribers than EQ, UO, and DAOC combined. NC Soft is making a killing, their American division based here in Austin is hiring, but not paying enough for me.

Those are great starting figures. I'll wait until 30 days until I start saying "wow" though. Doesn't the game come with a free month? Subscriber totals after and during the first 3-6 months are what makes or breaks an MMO, IMO.

The main thing that puts me off Lineage 2 is the possibility it's anything like the first one. "Yay, I look exactly like everyone else of my class! Maybe it's because I'm in a n00b zone." Several minutes later..."Nope, I still look like everyone else."

God, I hate looking like everyone else.
